It's the summer of 1994, and the streets of New York are pulsing with youthful energy and music. Luke spends his last summer before college selling small amounts of pot from an ice cream cart. He trades it with his psychiatrist, played by the always riveting Ben Kingsley, for therapy. Things get complicated for all concerned when Luke falls in love with the psychiatrist’s step-daughter, played by Olivia Thirlby who was the wisecracking young friend in Juno. Famke Janssen, Mary Kate Olsen, and Method Man round out the cast in this edgy, bittersweet, and funny coming of age story.

Park City Film Series - The VisitorSeptember 12 - 14, 2008
This is a complex drama that became a word-of-mouth hit of the specialized feature marketplace. A lonesome widower and college economics professor finds his quiet existence suddenly shaken up when he befriends a pair of illegal immigrants, in the second feature from The Station Agent director Tom McCarthy. When visiting Manhattan, the professor is surprised to discover that a young couple has moved into his seldom-used apartment in Greenwich Village. Walter reluctantly allows the couple to remain in his apartment. The young man insists on repaying his host's kindness by teaching him to play the African drum. The ageing academic finds his spirits revitalized but must deal with abrupt changes when his new friend is threatened with deportation.

The hike will last 3 to 4 hours and will cover moderately strenuous terrain. Participants should be in good shape, wear sturdy footwear, carry plenty of water and snacks, and wear proper sun protection.
